151129 Funk Zone

We took the Surfliner from SLO to Santa Barbara with exploration of the relatively new Funk Zone in mind. The surfliner was jammed in both directions, but we played it well getting a table for the trip down (played cards all the way) and eventuallu 4 across going on home (after having to wait a mere 10 minutes to let off a bunch of college kids in Goleta). Contrary to the train, the Funk Zone was not crowded at all. Wasn't till the latter part of the day as we neared the beach and trendier spots did we see much action. We pretty much had the various wineries to ourselves.

  • Liked their chardonnay.
